Crate & Barrel, Urban Outfitters and Eileen Fisher choose SilkRoad OpenHire to Simplify Human Resources and Recruiting
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. SilkRoad technology inc., a leading provider of integrated Human Capital Management Systems, today announced the rapid adoption of its OpenHire Applicant Tracking System among retailers seeking to hone recruiting efforts, reduce hiring costs, and achieve consistency of brand across candidate-facing sites. Crate & Barrel selected the OpenHire Applicant Tracking System as its primary portal for those interested in employment at their corporate offices in Northbrook, Illinois. After using another product they found to be too cumbersome, Crate & Barrel set out to find a more user-friendly solution that could adapt to their unique needs. “Our brand is very important to us, so we’re very specific about how things look to our customers and our prospective employees,” said Corporate Recruiter Melissa Childers. “With OpenHire we’re able to keep the same look and feel of our existing site, with added functionality. We’re very optimistic about its impact on our recruiting process.” OpenHire will be hosting the company’s corporate career’s website, providing enhancements such as the ability to add pre-screening questions, track applicants through the entire hiring process, generate detailed reports, and post jobs to external sites. Using the OpenHire Applicant Tracking System, recruiters gain instant access to the information they need to make fast, informed recruiting decisions. Resumes from various sources are accessible via the web through one central repository, simplifying the recruiting and resource management process. OpenHire’s proprietary technology integrates with email, fax, online job boards, corporate job sites, and internal Intranets, eliminating the time and cost of importing resumes into a database. Reporting is a key aspect of the OpenHire product for Crate & Barrel. “We’ll be able to not only achieve consistency for hiring efforts, but better reporting so we easily track cost-to-hire and identify areas in need of improvement. And we’re pleased with the cost savings that the software will bring, along with a more streamlined approach to front-line candidate screening.” OpenHire is becoming the candidate tracking application of choice for many top retailers. For example: Urban Outfitters Inc. of Philadelphia, is an innovative specialty retailer and wholesaler of lifestyle merchandise, is using OpenHire recruiting management software to help streamline the hiring processes throughout its U.S. operations. The rapidly growing retailer integrated the award-winning OpenHire suite into its legacy IT systems to help its human resources staffers field, track, and manage the thousands of applications they receive each year. The Human Resources department at the women’s apparel maker Eileen Fisher has drastically reduced administrative tasks by using the OpenHire Applicant Tracking System. They also plan to track hiring costs and identify recruiting sources for each candidate. “Hiring the right people is particularly important in a retail environment, where employees are an extension of the company’s image and reputation,” said Brian Platz, general manager of OpenHire for SilkRoad technology, inc. “Finding candidates who demonstrate excellent service is often hard to find. We’re very pleased that retailers find our software valuable in helping find the very best candidates.”
